Loved your piece — tell it like it is! It was refreshing to read on this our “independence” day. Thank you for your honesty and irreverence.
Great post, Em! I couldn ‘t care less about who’s screwing who, as long as it’s between two consenting adults.
As these never-ending wars wear on, you’ll see plenty of openly gay men and women being welcomed into the military with open arms.
For the record, I did care about the Clinton/Lewinsky debacle after it became a question of perjury. Maybe it should never have gotten that far- although after the Bush presidency I do have a grudging admiration for a Congress that challenged a President- but it did and I didn’t appreciate how badly Clinton played it.
We seem to have agreed as a nation that our prejudices aren’t a good enough reason to keep people out of the armed services especially in times of war. Certainly, we’re not worried about our service men and women having sexual relations, because that’s happening all the time. So the continued ban on gays in the military makes no sense to me, but bigoted behavior by definition defies logic.
Awesome post. I feel much the same way.
